It seems a life time away going into Bristol City Centre with your new Crepe soul shoes,
teddy boy jacket and queuing for up to two hours for that essential DA haircut.
This was not
the fifties but the rock n roll serge from the late seventies, to the early eighties.
Listening to the new sounds of bands like Whirlwind,Crazy Cavern, Flying Saucers and Matchbox
encouraged the purchase of the originals. From Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran to Buddy Holly
and Ricky Nelson.
At the tender age of fifteen and sixteen was born the desire to strap on a
guitar, listen to the bass runs, purchase a rickety old drum kit and annoy the hell out of
the neighbours.
This was the Heartbeats introduction to what is now known as years of
dedication to the art of 50's Rock n Roll and Rockabilly.
